| I first thought about prepping early in life, thinking what would I do if there were no food. In the year 2000, we had the Y2K problem. There was a fear that everything would stop working because of programmers using a 2 digit year. Many companies spent a lot of time rectifying any issues. But some of the books I read at that time were clear on how reliant we are on modern technology. Then in 2020 we had the Covid 19 or Hunan Virus make people stop working. The shelves were bare of food, toilet paper. Prepping was also something to do in the future. I realized that whatever you had prepped if you couldn't protect it, you'd waste you time. So I decided to get a weapon. I was watching a lot of gun related videos on YouTube (most popular video streaming platform) at the the time, so had a familiarity with guns. I went to a gun show and liked a Mossberg 500 talo editiion. It was $500. I didn't buy it. But came back on the next day but it was no longer there. There was a Black Ace Pump-action shotgun with a 5 round magazine. I bought it and the rest is history. So with guns and all the supplies, I moved on to a generator, food, water, on and on. There is a rabbit hole of prepping and it can be expensive. But it did teach me to appreciate what modern society benefits and negatives. So this is my story and how you can be prepared for the next incident. Somewhere in the world people wish they were prepared just in 2023. I've lived through a number of disasters Some other Memorable events Possible future disasters |
