Islanders Lose 4 - 1 to Panthers

via Islanders Report

Feb. 12, 2012 (Uniondale, NY) The New York Islanders lack of scoring continues as they lose to the Florida Panthers, 4 - 1 and fall back under .500 percent.  The Tavares line now has 1 goal in 7 games. Nabokov couldn't pull this one out and was pulled for Al Montoya in the third period.

The Islanders came out with an early lead on a goal from Frans Nielsen (10) on a breakaway off a beautiful feed from P.A Parenteau. The Panthers tied the game when a slap-shot hit off Steve Staios' knee.

The second period was all Florida who scored three more goals, two off of face-offs. The Islanders made a comeback attempt in the third but couldn't put the puck in the net.

The Islanders out-shot the Panthers 27 - 19. They won only 45% of their face-offs, with John Tavares at 9 out of 24 for 38%. Attendance was 14,179.
