I make a lot of notes to myself and spend too much time going through them and entering to my system.

This is part of the Too Many (TM) problem.

Get into habit of asking following questions before writing it down:

Is this clutter?
What system should I be entering this to or what system am I missing?
What's the consequence of not writing this down?
What is the category of this item?
