| This book is about Floor Hockey also known as Deck Hockey. It will teach you basic strategies you can use as a player or a coach to help you win games, improve your stats and make the game more enjoyable. My parents bought my first hockey stick for $0.99 from Modells in the 1960s. From there I played roller hockey on the metal skates that were popular back then. Where the skate key was more important than you house key. I loved skating and roller hockey was a way to play a sport and skate at the same time. So I played lot's of Roller Hockey in the streets of the Bronx. I went to college and found out about tryouts for the ice hockey team. I bought skates and started going to public sessions to improve my ice skating. Ice skating is harder than roller skating, but I was getting better. Nervously I tried out for the team. It turned out that even though I could barely skate, the coach said I could be on the team. For years I rented ice rinks and got people to come and play at these practices. I got married, had kids and stopped playing. My kids were playing indoor soccer at a roller hockey rink. So I joined a roller hockey team. Then the PAL - Police Athletic League had a floor hockey league. I signed my kids up. After a few years of watching I decided to coach the kids. Here is where I learned the lessons on hoc to coach a team to a championship. Read on to find the techniques that I've learned over the years to win championships. |
