| It's hard to describe what Excel is and what it can do but here goes.
Excel looks like graph paper. You have rows numbered on the left and columns on the top. The rows are numbered from 1 to 1 million and the columns are numbered with letters from A-Z and AA - AZ all the way up to xx??? You are looking at a sheet or tab. At the bottom it tells you the name of the sheet also called a WorkSheet and Sheet1 by default. On the top is the Ribbon or Menu. Where the rows and columns intersect is called a cell. Each cell has a name. You can click on the cell and see the name in the formula bar. Excel can do so much which makes it a great tool but it also makes it overwhelming to learn. We will be using real world examples to learn Excel and how it can solve problems. Think of Excel as a toolbox with many tools available to help you get your job done. |
