How do I know if my scale is accurate?

The best way to tell if it's accurate is to weigh yourself, step off make sure it's reset to zero and then weigh yourself again. The weight should be within 0.2 pounds.

One mistake you might make is to place the scale on a carpet. Most scales require a hard floor to work properly.

If the weight is off you can take an average and use that value.

An inaccurate scale can be a problem.

Make sure you're consistent as to time and clothing you wear when weighing yourself including what's in your pockets or whether you're wearing glasses can make a difference.

I like to weigh myself upon awakening, in my birthday suit after I've emptied my bladder.

Just be consistent in however you weigh yourself.
